This continuing education activity is designed for the registered nurse interested in caring for this specialized population. Participants of this course will learn the valuable role of the registered nurse as a pediatric forensic nurse examiner, practice standards, components of the forensic exam, evidence collection, and the importance of community collaboration.
This 5-day continuing education activity will provide the scientific knowledge to enable the learner to understand the practice standards and role responsibilities of a pediatric sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE). The learner may then decide to pursue further clinical education to become a SANE.
